It is no secret that the dog hair trend has blanketed the world over like a wild, sneeze-inducing snow. I call this shaggy fashion storm “the mighty polka hair,” and will fursure keep feeding its gales until the rainbow bridge finds me. But though I may be a staunch proponent of the subsequent no-shave-ever movement, and the in-thing that caused it, I am, probably to your surprise, not pawing at this blog post to bark about it. No, I need not further something that does not need to be added to, since the dog hair is, after all, everywhere.
What I am here to bark about is another physical characteristic that is very in dogue: the wrinkle. It’s a style that’s so versatile amongst dogs and so captivating to humans, that it’s no wonder us canines are catching on to its rugged glamour.
It’s a camo, blending the Shar Pei into his or her’s surroundings like an unassuming and super soft pile of towels. It’s wearable art, wrinkles upon wrinkles melting together to create a stunning marble of ridges. It’s like a bow tie, with simple eyebrow furrows wrapping Rhodesian Ridgebacks & Boxers in a cloak of stateliness.
But most important of all, the wrinkle is just so cute to humans, since the wrinkliest of dogs are puppies and as these puppies age into big dogs, what rumples and creases they have left become even more precious to their bipedal pals. So the next time you go to smooth out your ridges remember that wrinkles are in, that humans love em’, and that they’re here to stay.
